We now can offer Lasertile and Laserglass, in addition to our traditional etching media - marble, granite, and metals.
The basic problem with the stone etching media is that it is black, and the image must always be white-on-black. There are some images that just don't suit that style of medium. For instance if you have a charcoal sketch of an owl, on white paper, then it makes sense to etch it onto a light-colored tile, with black markings, so that it looks like the original image. Lasertile is designed to act in exactly that way. The glaze on the tiles is specially formulated to turn dark when exposed to the laser light, and even responds to different levels of intensity with different levels of darkness in the glaze. In this way, we can etch very subtle grey-scale images on tiles, with results that rival the output of a monochrome inkjet or laser printer. We are very happy to be able to offer it to you, in a variety of colors. If you are interested, you should take a peek at the manufacturer's website, at www.lasertile.com.
3Score Inc. also makes Laserglass, which you can see on their website as well. It is in the form of clear, tinted glass tiles, in a wide variety of colors, that are coated with a photosensitive layer on the back. This coating turns to shades of grey and black when lasered, making an image that is visible through the front of the tile, and is quite striking.
Both of these media are suitable for creating murals in corporate foyers, for instance, or possibly a company logo etched into the wall tiles or floor tiles, or even pictures of the baby etched onto tiles around the tub or the baby changing station in the bathroom. The possibilities are endless...
