Laser Tile and Glass

Laser tile is a specially designed type of tile that has a photosensitive coating mixed in with the glaze on the tile, which is sensitive to the laser light energy, and turns from clear to shades of grey, depending on the power of the laser. So, if we vary the power of the beam over the surface of the tile, we can create a grey-scale image on the tile. The image looks as if it were printed on a monochrome printer (ink-jet or laser). The photosensitivity does not react to ambient light, such as the UV or Infra-red light in the environment, so the tiles will not fade over time. There are some impressive possibilities!
